Independent Construction and Facilities Management Support
May 2009 Update
Martin has over 30 years experience, both within the UK and internationally, across the built environment sector that includes project management and businesses improvement through main contracting organisations and now independent support though his fairsnape business
Through fairsnape, Martin supports activities and improvements in sustainability, collaboration, excellence and foresight (futures) within the design, construction, facilities management and regeneration sectors.
Recently Martin’s focus has been:
- exploring the application of web based technologies and their application to reduce costs, address sustainability and importantly improve collaboration within and across organisations. (He is a co-founder of be2camp, the UK’s (and possibly the world’s) first un-conference and innovative programme focused on Web 2.0 for the built environment)
- leading the Constructing the Future team at Elevate East Lancs as interim head, providing project management support for the regeneration unit.
- providing bid training and support to contracting and client organisations
Martin comments regularly on construction and facilities management issues through his internationally recognised isite blog, through twitter and other networks and forums.
He lives within the Forest of Bowland, Lancashire with his partner, three children and an increasing number of free range chickens
