Route 2 Zero

Zero is the new black. Within the built environment the focus and zeitgeist is on achieving zero, zero carbon, zero waste, zero accidents and zero defects and more. Whilst there remains a healthy debate as to definitions, many organisations are embarking on a journey..striving towards zero… but often without the route map.

Everybody wants to be zero. Clients want their suppliers to be moving to zero. Customers will choose products and services from organisations who are seen to be moving. No surprises then to see the big retail organisations already on the road to zero, and expecting their supply chain to do similarly.

Requirements and targets being set for our industry, the built environment, along with increasing expectations from staff, shareholders and customers to improve our sustainability performance, requirements that will become more and more central to the way we manage, design, procure, build, maintain and work within communities.

but more…to zero and beyond … Zero may give us a sense of direction and purpose, but there are many other factors to consider on route. Sustainability is more than just achieving zero carbons, its about achieving sustainability across the three bottom lines, economic, environmental and social.

Route2Zero is a facilitated tool to help map out that journey, developed through Fairsnape and being piloted with Elevate East Lancs organisations, route 2 zero can help you acheive clarity and confidence on your journey.
